Although many work places are safe places to be, sometimes there are accidents. These can happen at any time for a variety of reasons. Some people have a rather cavalier attitude towards them, thinking that they will be able to make an accident at work compensation claim and so they will be financially better off if they get hurt at work so it is not important to be safe. It is not as simple as this though.
Making an accident claim is not easy. You have to choose the right solicitor and then you have to prove that the accident was not your fault. You then have some money, but you will need to use some of it to pay the solicitor. You should have enough to pay back any costs of the accident but it could take time to get the moment and you will have suffered financial stress while this was going on.
You also need to consider that if the court decides that you were careless and so the accident was not due to the company being negligent, you will not get any compensation. This means that if you have been off work on low pay or having to pay for medical expenses, then you will not get any of that money back. You will also get no compensation so you will be financially a lot worse off than before.
You also need to consider that if you are careless then it may cause other people to get hurt at work and you do not want to be responsible for that. If it is your job to make sure that things are done safely then you should make sure they are as you may end up losing your job because of it.
